Dashboard overview

Overview

The dashboard is composed of modules (or widgets) that provide snapshots and visualizations of your data, allowing you to quickly view and compare different figures. Each Pendo user can create their own unique dashboard to access the metrics that matter to them at a glance.

Edit, Move, Remove, and Interact

Clicking the gear icon in the top right corner of each module allows you to Edit, Move, or Remove it.

Edit Module

Editing allows you to edit the name of any module to make it easier to identify. You can also add a segment to many modules if you only want to see information on a certain population of your users. The same module can be added to the page multiple times, allowing you to quickly compare two different segments against the same metric.

Move Module

Clicking Move on any module will reveal a textured area in the top left corner of each window. They can then be dragged into any configuration and saved by clicking Done in the top right of the page. New modules can be added from this corner of the page as well.

Remove Module

Removing a module from your dashboard is very easy. Simply click on the settings icon in the top right corner of the module and you will see an option to remove the module. It can always be re-added at any time through the Add a Module option on the page.

note: Goal(s) and Trend(s) modules can only be added from the details page.

Interact with a Module

Hovering over certain modules reveals additional information. For example, the Daily/Weekly/monthly visitors and Visitors per week windows provide more specifics as you hover left to right.

Some modules allow you to perform a different action to view more details within the modules. The categories in ‘Browser Usage’ allow you to select the type of browser to provide a breakdown of which versions my visitors are using. Click and drag over modules that are scatter plots, such as page use by visitor or account, is another action that can show you additional detail within the module.

Expanded Module Definitions

Total Usage Time

In the past 30 days, how much total time have all of your visitors spent related to that activity. This is calculated per minute. If a visitor does only one tagged activity during the course of that minute, that full minute is attributed to that user. If the visitor does more than one activity during the course of a minute, each activity is credited with a fraction of that minute. For example, if a visitor does three tagged activities in the course of a minute, each activity will be credited with 20 seconds worth of usage time.

Visitors Using Tag

The total number of your visitors who have done the tagged activity in the past 30 days. If one visitor does the activity more than one time during that period, it will still only count as a single visitor.

Time Per Visitor

Total Usage time divided by Visitors Using Tag. This gives you a feel for how much time each visitor spends using this feature over the course of a 30 day period.

Multiple Dashboards

Multiple dashboards can help you to measure a variety of metrics for different parts of your initiatives within Pendo. To create a new one, click on the “+” icon next to the Dashboard header in the left-hand navigation bar:

note: Each dashboard will be visible only to the user who created it.

Name your dashboard and customize it with different widgets, including Pendo Goal(s) or Trend(s). If Pendo detects you have multiple dashboards when saving a widget, you will be prompted to select which dashboard before saving.

You can create up to three different dashboards and then rename and delete when you’re done with any initiatives as needed.

note: You will have to keep 1 dashboard of your choosing at all times (ie. If you have 3 dashboards, you can delete 2 of your choosing).
